Privacy Policy

Jimit LLC ("we", "us", "our") operates Astro Alerts at https://www.astroalerts.co.uk/. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect when you visit the site or purchase a subscription, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation.

1. Who we are

Astro Alerts is a reselling community operated by Jimit LLC, registered at 1603 Capitol Ave, Suite 413 E157, Cheyenne, WY 82001, United States. For privacy enquiries you can reach us at support@astroalerts.co.uk.

2. What we collect

We only collect data we actually need to run the service:

  • Account & payment data: your email address, Discord username, and billing information. Card details are handled directly by Stripe and Whop; we never see or store your full card number.
  • Subscription data: subscription status, plan, renewal dates, and license key.
  • Support correspondence: any email or Discord message you send us.
  • Newsletter subscribers: email address and subscription date, stored if you opt in to our newsletter.
  • Usage & analytics: anonymised page views, device type, approximate region, and referrer via Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager.
  • Server logs: IP address, user agent, and request path — kept for up to 30 days for abuse prevention.

3. Why we use it (legal bases)

  • Contract: to deliver the subscription you paid for (account access, billing, license management).
  • Legitimate interest: site analytics, fraud detection, security logging, and responding to support requests.
  • Consent: marketing newsletter emails (you can withdraw at any time via the unsubscribe link).
  • Legal obligation: retention of transaction records for tax and accounting purposes.

4. Who we share it with

We share data only with processors that help us run the service:

  • Stripe — payment processing (privacy policy).
  • Whop — subscription management and checkout (privacy policy).
  • Discord — the chat platform members use to access the community (privacy policy).
  • Google (Analytics & Tag Manager) — anonymised analytics (privacy policy).
  • Resend — newsletter email delivery (privacy policy).
  • Trustpilot — if you leave a review, you do so directly on Trustpilot under their terms.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. Ever.

5. International transfers

Some of our processors are based outside the UK/EEA. Where that is the case, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or adequacy decisions approved by the UK ICO and the European Commission to protect your data.

6. How long we keep it

  • Active subscription data: for as long as you are a member.
  • Billing records: 6 years (tax requirement).
  • Newsletter subscribers: until you unsubscribe.
  • Support emails: up to 24 months after the last contact.
  • Server logs: 30 days.

7. Cookies

We use a small number of cookies. Strictly necessary cookies are used to keep you logged in and to remember your preferences. Analytics cookies (via Google Tag Manager) are only set if you consent via the cookie banner (where one is shown). You can clear or block cookies at any time via your browser settings; this will not affect your ability to access paid content.

8. Your rights

Under UK and EU GDPR you have the right to:

  • Access a copy of your personal data.
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Request deletion ("right to be forgotten") where applicable.
  • Restrict or object to processing.
  • Data portability (receive your data in a machine-readable format).
  • Withdraw consent at any time (newsletter subscribers can use the unsubscribe link in any email).
  • Lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or your local EU data protection authority.

9. Children

Astro Alerts is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Security

We protect your data with TLS encryption in transit, secrets stored in environment variables only, access-controlled infrastructure, and limited employee access on a need-to-know basis. No system is perfectly secure, but we take this seriously.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service evolves. Material changes will be announced via the newsletter and the "Last updated" date above will change.
